What is lass?
LASS began as a group of female automotive technicians and students in the San Antonio and Austin area who get together on a weekly basis to study ASE test materials, discuss questions and answers, learn from one another, and encourage each others’ success as we gain the credentials necessary to build credibility and hireability in our industry.
From there, we have expanded to include more activities such as group junkyard trips, auto repair work parties, and community service. This year, we volunteered our time fixing cars for free as the first all-female CarFest team! For more info, check out our photo gallery.
Not only do we study ASE over delicious drink coffee and tea, but we also get the benefit of sharing our shop experiences with one another. We help each other through problems in the shop, be it mechanical or interpersonal, and share tips and tricks with one another, whether it’s finding the best work boots for women to how to remove a transmission when you’re only 112 lbs.
If you are in the San Antonio area, find out where we will be next by keeping tabs on our activity!
